For Cape Town car owners
Earn from your car while you're not using it.
Place your vehicle with Mylz Rentals under a Vehicle Management Agreement. We vet every renter, handle the handovers, cleaning and admin, and pay you a monthly share of the rental revenue — with a statement for every rental.
How it works
From application to monthly payout
A simple, transparent process. You stay the owner; we do the renting, the handovers and the admin.
- 01
Apply online
Tell us about you and your car and add a few photos. It takes about five minutes and commits you to nothing.
- 02
Inspection
If your vehicle looks like a fit, we arrange a call and a physical inspection in Cape Town to confirm its condition, papers and service history.
- 03
Agreement & onboarding
We walk you through the Vehicle Management Agreement, agree availability and your revenue share, then photograph, track and list the car.
- 04
We rent, manage & maintain
Our team vets renters, handles every handover, cleans and inspects the car between trips and coordinates servicing with you.
- 05
Monthly payouts & statements
Each month you receive a statement showing every completed rental, the revenue earned and your share — paid into your bank account.
What we look for
Well-kept cars that renters want
These are guidelines rather than hard rules — if your car is slightly outside them but exceptionally maintained, we're still happy to look.
Up to 5 years old
As a guide, vehicles 5 years or newer with under 100 000 km.
Comprehensive insurance
An active comprehensive policy is required. We'll discuss rental-use cover with you during onboarding.
Full service history
A complete, up-to-date service record (dealer or reputable workshop) and a valid licence disc.
Models renters ask for
SUVs, executive sedans, EVs and hybrids, people carriers for families and groups, and double-cab bakkies.
What we handle
The work of renting — done for you
Renting a car out properly is a full-time job. These are the things our team takes care of on every rental.
Renter vetting
Every renter verifies their identity and driver's licence before they can collect a car.
Meet & greet and delivery
We hand over and collect at Cape Town International and our delivery zones — you never meet a stranger.
Cleaning between rentals
Interior and exterior valet after every trip so your car is always presented properly.
Photo inspections
Timestamped check-out and check-in inspections with photos, fuel and odometer readings.
Tracking
Vehicles are fitted with or connected to a tracking unit while they're in our programme.
Fines redirected
Traffic fines incurred during a rental are redirected to the renter responsible.
Damage claims
We document damage, recover costs from renters or insurers and keep you informed throughout.
Maintenance coordination
We track service intervals and tyres and arrange workshop visits with your approval.
Earnings
How owners are paid
You earn an agreed share of the rental revenue your car generates. There's no fixed or guaranteed income — what you receive depends on demand, the season, your availability and your vehicle.
- Your share is calculated on completed rentals and paid monthly, with a statement listing every booking.
- Servicing, insurance and licensing remain the owner's responsibility. Full terms are set out in the owner terms and your Vehicle Management Agreement.

Owner questions
How much will I earn?
It depends on your vehicle, the season and how many days it's available and rented — so we don't promise a figure. You receive an agreed percentage of the rental revenue your car generates, and every payout comes with a statement showing each rental.
What revenue share do owners receive?
Our standard starting point is 70% of the rental revenue to the owner, with the balance covering our marketing, renter vetting, handovers, cleaning and management. The final share is set out in your Vehicle Management Agreement.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are made monthly for completed rentals in the previous month, together with a statement. The payout date is set out in your agreement.
Who pays for fuel, cleaning and fines?
Renters pay for fuel they use and for traffic fines incurred during their rental. Cleaning between rentals is handled by us. Scheduled servicing and wear items remain the owner's cost, which we coordinate with you.
What happens if my car is damaged?
Each rental starts and ends with a photo inspection. If damage occurs, we document it, recover costs from the renter or the applicable insurance and coordinate repairs with you. The exact process is described in the Vehicle Management Agreement.
Can I use my car myself?
Yes. You agree availability up front — full-time, seasonal or specific periods — and can block dates with reasonable notice so you can use the car yourself.
Is there a minimum term or can I end the agreement?
Minimum terms and notice periods are set out in the agreement. We'll explain them clearly before you sign — there are no surprises.
What does it cost to apply?
Nothing. Applying is free and doesn't commit you to anything until you sign an agreement.
