Website & app terms of use

These terms govern your use of mylzrentals.co.za and the Mylz Rentals progressive web app (together, the “platform”), operated by Mylz Auto (Pty) Ltd. By using the platform you agree to these terms. Vehicle rentals are governed by our Vehicle Rental Terms & Conditions, and our handling of personal information by our Privacy Policy (POPIA). If these terms conflict with the rental terms on a rental matter, the rental terms apply.

Section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 requires us to make the following information available:

Section 44 of ECTA gives consumers a 7-day cooling-off right for certain electronic transactions. Section 42(2) of ECTA excludes from that right, among others, transport and leisure services that the supplier undertakes, when the transaction is concluded, to provide on a specific date or within a specific period, and services that began with your consent before the end of the cooling-off period. Most vehicle rental bookings for set dates fall within these exclusions. Our Cancellations, Changes & Refunds nonetheless lets you cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before handover, and your rights under section 17 of the Consumer Protection Act are not affected. Where the cooling-off right does apply to a transaction, you may cancel within 7 days without reason or penalty, and we will refund payments within 30 days, less only the direct cost of returning any goods.

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and meet our driver requirements to rent.
• Information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
• Keep your password confidential and enable two-factor authentication where offered. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our failure to keep the platform secure. Tell us immediately at bookings@mylzrentals.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access.
• We may suspend or close an account that is used fraudulently or in breach of these terms, and you may close yours at any time.

You may not:

• use the platform unlawfully, fraudulently, or to make a booking in someone else's name without authority;
• upload false, forged or altered identity or licence documents, or another person's images;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other accounts, our systems or vehicle telematics, or probe, scan or test their vulnerability;
• introduce malware, overload the platform, or scrape, crawl or harvest content or prices by automated means without our written consent;
• post reviews or content that are false, defamatory, offensive, infringe others' rights or are posted for reward without disclosure.

Unauthorised access to, interception of or interference with data or computer systems, and cyber fraud and forgery, are offences under the Cybercrimes Act 19 of 2020 and may be reported to SAPS.

The platform, its design, text, photographs, logos, the “Mylz Rentals” name and software are owned by or licensed to Mylz and protected by copyright and trade-mark law. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Any other reproduction requires our written permission. By submitting a review or photo, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish it in connection with our services, with attribution by first name and initial.

The platform links to third-party services such as payment gateways, maps, WhatsApp and partner sites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices; their own terms apply.

We aim to keep the platform available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Vehicle images are illustrative and you book a model “or similar”. Prices and availability are confirmed only in your booking confirmation; we may correct obvious pricing errors before confirming. The app can be installed on your home screen, may store content for offline use and can send push notifications if you allow them — see our Cookie Policy.

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version and continued use means you accept the update. These terms are governed by South African law and, subject to your consumer rights, the courts of the Western Cape have jurisdiction. Questions or complaints: bookings@mylzrentals.co.za.
