Long-Term and Monthly Car Rental in Cape Town

The table above multiplies each car's monthly rate out to one and three months, so you can compare long-term car rental prices in Cape Town at a glance. For example, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class costs about R32,970 a month, a Volkswagen Polo about R14,070 and a BMW iX, with unlimited kilometres, about R74,970. All figures include VAT and Essential Cover.

Rentals of up to 90 days can be booked online at those rates. For six to twelve months we send a fixed written quote, so the price you agree is the price you pay each month. Seasonal adjustments, such as festive-season rates, apply only to the days that fall within those periods.

Fuel or charging, tolls, traffic fines and parking are yours, as with any rental.

For a few weeks to a year, rental is usually simpler and often cheaper overall once insurance, maintenance and the cost of exiting a lease are counted. Over several years, leasing or buying generally wins on cost.

Companies placing staff or crews in Cape Town can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, one statement for several cars and named authorised drivers. Tax invoices show VAT separately for your records. For terms longer than three months we may run a credit check, only with your consent.

Daily allowances are pooled across the month. The Polo's 200 km a day adds up to 6,000 km over 30 days, and the C-Class's to 7,500 km, which is more than most people drive in a month around Cape Town. Electric cars include unlimited kilometres. Extra kilometres are charged at the rate shown on each car's page.

The refundable deposit is held on a credit card in the main driver's name.
